Aditya Chopra’s Befikre will premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival on December 8. The movie which was shot in Paris, the most romantic city on this planet, is a rom-com with Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor in the lead. Going by the trailer and stills, the heroine seems all set to light up the screen with her oomph, and the pair will walk the red carpet.

It will open in India on December 9.

Last year, Dubai showcased a remarkably serious work like Waiting -- with really strong performers, such as Naseeruddin Shah, Suhasini Maniratnam and Kalki Koechlin. Yes, even Miss Koechlin carried herself with admirable ease, and, well, sparkled in her scenes with a legend like Naseer sahib.

Befikre was probably zeroed in on because of its glamour quotient, and every festival, including the queen of all, Cannes, marks a slot for glitz, with the divinely adorable stars in their ravishingly designer-best walking up the red carpet to the cries from shutterbugs, each jostling with the other to get the best shot.

This happens in Dubai as well, and one can be sure that Singh and Kapoor will get the crowds -- a lot many Indians included -- into a tizzy.

Befikre was probably zeroed in on because of its glamour quotient.

Labelled as the most progressive take on modern-day man-woman relationship from the Yash Raj stable, Befikre, translating in English as Carefree, is a contemporary romantic story of Dharam (Ranveer) and Shyra Gill (Vaani), who find love in an impulsive, engaging series of experiences. Doused in the spirit of Paris, the work celebrates love and focuses on living life to the fullest.

Abdulhamid Juma, festival chairman, said: “The World Premiere of the eagerly anticipated Befikre from Yash Raj Films and directed by the incredibly talented Aditya Chopra following a hiatus of seven years is a major scoop for us. This refreshing new movie will appeal to not just the expatriate community but also Arabs, who have a strong affinity for Bollywood cinema.”

Befikre is being labelled as the most progressive take on modern-day man-woman relationship from the Yash Raj stable.

Befikre will be the fourth Yash Raj work to be showcased at Dubai. Kabul Express, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl had their premiere there.

The Dubai International Film Festival runs from December 7 to 14.
